Inner Serpents

How do I shine brightly again?
Previously I challenged the fluidity of the universe,
Of God.
Like an electric fence,
Misunderstood and fire fuelled.

I've tamed my dragons and have them sitting, domesticated under my arms.
I carry them with me,
The inner serpent I once demonised,
Like a large dog I wished other owners could empathise with.

No one sees them,
But we are one unit,
How do we fit through the crowd?
How can its immensity be present in the masses?
How do we weave through the bodies, not unseen but accepted?

How do I partner with my own severity?
I've got a hold of my extremities for now,
Until another injustice occurs.
My dragons are like attack dogs,
I hold their faces and nurse them to return to still.

My arms are busy cuddling them,
My darkness who I understand.
Raising a small human,
With a tribe inside,
A small body to guide who is a timeless soul.
How do we navigate the pathway?

A family of slippery serpents,
Staying close and misunderstood by generality.
One being with lifetimes swirling,
Thick skin and unseen protection.
Can't you see into their eyes?

No one could be cast aside here,
Scales nurtured and healed,
Arms heavy holding multiple,
Parts of one,
Forgetting they hold me too.
