Inner Season

I've sat before this open window as the leaves have changed with fall It's getting colder, but inside there is a warmth that fills the air With each sight of him temperature rises as I rest myself in this sweet haven He leaves once more, doing what has to be done yet, I keep his heart with me It stays in the safety of my own depths serving as the kindling that never runs out He is the fire that keeps me warm, the shelter from the cold winter arriving The outer seasons may change, but the inner season remains the same for always
