Inner Child
Far, far away you've gone as worlds divided us
in a time I cannot engrave or mold…just shadows,
just girlish shadows of you that I barely felt
the moonlit breeze kneading that auburn hair.
Weeping, my glances peer through those eyes
I once knew so well. Now, they are blurry,
vanishing from twilights we both shared: how I
yearn for you, dear inner child, with love golden and mild…
somehow, this heart knows you're just walking breathing,
maybe hiding nestling right beside me. Oh, can we talk?
