Injustice

Injustice

The rain falls on the slothful and the hardworking
The accident of birth is where you land
Poverty or wealth
Education or illiterate
Abuse or stability
Want or abundance
Opportunity or obstacles
Violent murderers go free
While beautiful children suffer abuse
Illness ravages the young and the old alike
Hunger overtakes
Storms annihilate all in their path
Wars take place because of powers that be
Dictators destroy and powers control
Ice-cream and cheesecake
Are filled with multiple empty calories
Winter seems to last longer than summer and spring and fall
Systems designed to protect
Fail miserably.
The young die before their time
People inherit bad genes
Mental illness has very little cure
Cancer is not conquered yet
Only the strong survive
Energy and vigor is wasted on the young
And wisdom comes at the end of your life
Injustice is all around us
It cries out in the streets!

Some will accomplish much with very little and others will be blessed with much and squander their blessings. Sometimes what we wish for May in fact be our greatest liability if we achieve it. I like your poem Grace.

You are right! I have seen a lot of injustice. I posted a post on facebook today. A girl I worked with lost her sister to a brutal, violent death at the hands of her estranged husband. Our Canadian justice system has allowed him to marry and is getting ready to parole him.injustice!!!
