Influenza

It seems like I’m hit with a dose of flu
My skin feels so sensitive to the cold
It will run its course nowt else I can do
It's harder to shake off as you get old.

I feel I’m not here my head is away
Dosing my self with medical potions
Lemon drinks are the order of the day
With care I take in measured proportions.

Worst of all I've got no inspiration
Nothing coming in or out of my head
I'm in a state of mental stagnation
Feel like a zombie lying in this bed.

I sweated profusely throughout the night
Hope after six days I'll start to feel right.

Greetings Tom. I wish i had seen your work before. It has been ages since i have been on here. Lovely. It appeals to the medical missionary in me. I'm certain by now you are out and about. no more of that ailing. strong to have shared your experience and in a very descriptive, detailed manner. and all who have had it, can related and agree as they read. Written well. Jesz

I do hope that you are better now, well you see coke is my first love, so no matter what's the temperature, I will drink atleast three chilled cans a day, because of that I often have inflenza, so I know this feeling very well, I absolutely hate that thing especially when it is so much that you can't even drink water, good luck my friend and I really enjoyed reading this poem of yours

They call it a simple cold/flu but there is nothing simple about the dreadful aches and fever or heavy head filled with a running faucet of a nose. I hope you feel better in record time Tom. You have reminded me of just how miserable it is to have the flu in winter. At least it inspired a poem.Blessings my friend. Hugs, Connie xxoo : )

Oh gosh, I remember my last experience with it; it's amazing the misery one little bug can create in the human body. Sadly the muse gets the flu, as well but, you'll be happy to know that there will be a brighter day. Hope you feel better soon.
