Infinity Inverted

Few hearts to mortals given who seek and breathe design who will not settle for less than what gives full surrender to heart and mind My mind was ever moving in regions dark to thee with depth that groaned to be inspired through a force outside of me You were day with evening blending a mystery laden neath a wall who begged my spirit forth to bending that first not yours would fall I ran upon your walls with the hoof and seal of Rome Then sank my heart from a summer sky Thy defenses too strong and high Though I knew you and I were one of a kind fit by design, body soul and mind You would not let me be your light as when sun calls moon to sky I too feared to beg of heaven for more than lonely loved Then lost my soul a bread unleavened trading fire for fantasy indulged The cautious ones would shake their heads and say perfection cannot be This Dream I have is but a dream unknown to life's reality But thou perhaps, dost also dream I know you think the same as I That those will never know the best who have no faith nor dared to try Infinity was not nearly enough Infinity inverted to me was love Timeless for all direction companion beyond all typical affection And I from mortal cloth had cut to know what lies beneath your walls shown to me and for the what the sin for which all angels fall To guard thyself Though in darkness be Vulnerability shall mean salvation for thee Today sweet light has shinned for me Though Rome was not built in a day Still, it's glorious beauty waved Servian gates fell open both ways and all its defenses fell by the way Just breathe! Be filled with this morsel of belief... There just may be life after death an inspiration beyond myself Gods of the tears be stilled and sleep for this portion granted me So long lay prostrate face to ground now stand on feeble knees For you have bestowed thy greatest gift your immortal power to believe

I sense a visceral sadness here, yet that need for peace & understanding still yearns in the distance. Maybe I have this all wrong? lol Either way, that last stanza hit very strongly...I hope things are great with you! :D

Give sorrow words; the grief that does not speak whispers, though o'er fraught heart and say not it did not break. - William Shakespeare Even hundredfold my friend... Grief is divisible when love holds you as a sheathe. Sadness perhaps in recollection of the journey, But that last stanza is a farewell to barren Winter branches and the comfort and beauty of a long awaited Spring.
