Infidelity

I don’t deserve
This kind of punch to my pride
You used your best left hook, uppercut and jab to my ego
Here desperately griping the corner of the ring
Unable to believe the idea
That he ever felt that my commitment was unclear
Upsetting the balance of sincerity
Exploiting the warmth of dedication
Renewing embers with bitter prodding
Of the magnifying glass
All it takes is dingy light to make flaws shine clear
And penetrate the veil of secrecy latched onto hidden personalities
Do you see what I see in the mirror
the mirror reflects only what wants to seen
You must envision otherwise, debunking my vitality ;Lies
You dare to have the audacity to question
Shady threats show the insecurity
Of Casanova condemning me of adultery
I know your eyes and the light inside when they lie
Truth slaps me in the face
Wrestles me to the ground
And I awake
                                                                           Infidelity
Incapable of preserving my composure
Searing scarlet words of fury
Hurl from my mouth smoldering as it goes up
inflating in my throat
Bubbling as they force my lips to part
And wreak wounds on my heart
Truth mutilates any person of moral character
Passion unfeigned will never be realized
Through those caramel eyes
by now you Must have forgot, Must have thought unproven
My devotion, the sincerity of your doubt doubles the drought
Of my usual honest style
Emotions upsurge and boil over
My kettle is scalding and you know it
Why do you sit there and smirk as I make I fool of myself?
Playing with your coffee
Fingers tracing
Silhouettes of shadows
Trying to disqualify all irrelevant thoughts of the mind
I’m feverish to inflict pain
Hot with the desire to see ancient abrasions of heartache reopen
Swollen, pulsating, engorged with despairing pleas
I sweat for those wounds to bleed
But these words I say bounce off and attack me precisely
Where it’s supposed to strike you
Must we deny the fact
That the cunning of my cutthroat declarations
Sharp and wicked
Hack off inches of respect
I can see on your face, Icy indifference
chest heaving pursed lips
these insults have nothing to do with you and everything to do with me
Plainly seen, meticulously measured
The words spill out in vain
Aiming for a jugular vein, or so
Jagged memories mean nothing I suppose
Daggers are designed for the killing of dreams
Jaded relationships and faded engagements
Falling down as rapidly
As they came
