Inescapably

Inescapably I am trying to see The lizard crawling under the curtain To take by surprise The fly meditating on the window glass Yet I cannot see more than The imperceptible slow movement Of soft flesh over wall Because my eyes are focussed there But my mind inescapably Drifts, and drifts on tide abroad Through tangled streets With clicking feet And pervssive noon oppressive heat And blind in each face Without a picture formulate you I brailled each profile With sightless fingers of thoughts Who would you be looking like Except inescapably you Who am I looking for Trying to find you who I never met Looking at the lizard But cannot forget Love is emotional hazard The stupid fly left the lizard glaring And the spider weaving Just weaving the dumb net by faith Caught it inescapably I seen too much not to be cautious And now look at me It means I must never tell you Inescapably how I feel
