Indigo Ii
walking down a one-way path
straight with the moon over one shoulder
following the tracks
as they lead into the horizon
following the faded imagery
as I stray in life
the dark woods are thick solid cobalt
lights twinkle deep in the woods
lights so far away
houses far away
lives lived along the way
desired by me, but I must proceed
stars stroll with me
the brilliance of heaven
the grace of indigo infinite
a chilly dark violet vault of sky
How I long for humanities embrace
the warmest of the fireplace
but the night is heavy
a sliver orb cold unexpressed
rises in the east
the sliver liquid of moon glow
drowns everything in pale light
I walked this path forever
looking back never
never feeling the release
the silent crickets singing in my memory
of springs left unsung
a lonely song of cicadas cry high
into the night
a mind in remembrance
your voice is resounding
in memories of my history
so many hallowed nights before
the past is miles behind me now
there is only my singular soul
I pass the time within
Transversing the tracks laid
in many lives wandering deep into
the night bound Horizon shores
Tomorrow’s waiting to come
the land along my tracks are silent.
So are my thoughts
nothing breaks it
but the fleeting figures of the lost
like ghosts drifting on the lands
in deep indigo night
the foggy mist in this cold barren
land scampers like lost things of Yesterdays.
the lights twinkle distantly
as hearths of havens rest are calling
But I must wander on.
