Notes About The Poem

A rainbow arch appears
Over Kerala island...
A salute to its colorful past,
To freedom attained at last.
As night falls, the heavens are
Starbright.

Yes, God's Own Country. I was going to try to fit that in but just didn't know how. Somehow I felt with this poem 'less was more'. Thanks a lot Miraj. I love your name by the way. Cheers, Connie

Hi Connie. I finally have a bit of time to see contest winners, which I will do soon. I love the poem I came up with using my five words. Incredibly, they lent themselves SO WELL to just what I wanted to write about!!! (will wait a while till I post however)

Well done, Connie! You took up this challenge and came out with flying colours! Does 'India' also have to be in the body of the poem? I'd better go check out the rules and put on my thinking cap:) Regards // paul

I checked with him Paul. He said it was fine. I appreciate you looking out for me. Since others have mentioned it too, I will put a note at the bottom of my poem noting it is okay. Thanks a lot Paul. ; )

Very well done, so succinct yet full of creativity. You painted a beautiful picture, but I'm concerned - does the word "India" need to be in the poem? Does it matter if it is only in the title? Nevertheless, I like! CayCay (yes, received with joy your delightful and personable mail(

I checked with Tim and he said it was fine to have one of my words in the title Sandra. Victor was kind enough to mention it to me too. I am glad I have you guys looking out for me. Thank you CayCay. ; )

Give the words overnight. that is what I did Laura. I did have to do a bit of research on the island off the coast of India. There are many islands. I didn't find the photo of the bridge until after I had written my poem! Thanks a lot. ; )
