Independence Day 2006
Independence Day 2006
By: Tom Wright
7/5/2006
Our country’s birthday has arrived
And once again at war our heroes toil.
Our nations brave once more has been summoned
To lay down boot prints on foreign soil;
They serve in air, on land, and sea
Their time becoming memories wrapped in sand;
The sacrifices made let us never forget
Nor that God sheds his grace on our great land.
Our freedom has always rested on bodies of the willing
Their sacrifices guarantees to all religious right;
Even those who would do harm to us are free
To burn our flag in protest or flaunt America’s might;
