Independence Day 2006 By: Tom Wright 7/5/2006 Our country’s birthday has arrived And once again at war our heroes toil. Our nations brave once more has been summoned To lay down boot prints on foreign soil; They serve in air, on land, and sea Their time becoming memories wrapped in sand; The sacrifices made let us never forget Nor that God sheds his grace on our great land. Our freedom has always rested on bodies of the willing Their sacrifices guarantees to all religious right; Even those who would do harm to us are free To burn our flag in protest or flaunt America’s might;
