Incongruent Paths

INCONGRUENT PATHS

I've been needing a change
But I haven't had the will
The numbers now recede
Like a broken dollar bill

The signs point out the way
We all started out beside
But our paths weren't congruent
Now all the points divide

When distances were close
All of us were smiles
Somehow we got distracted
And lost in all the miles

With the winds of change we scatter
With these breezes go our hearts
At first the seeds all came together
Now our roots grow far apart

Yeah, it's true I miss my friends
So I'm grateful that the earth's a sphere
Maybe someday we'll get around
And all meet somewhere far from here...
