Incited Fury

O the fury stoked by the parent! Incited by a word or phrase, Making anger apparent And setting one ablaze. Some lash out with strikes and blows, Others with words or pen. Some hold on until it grows, Then they count to ten. At times kept and stoked Over days, months or years. Others on tears choked And sought forgiveness from their peers. Patience is the key To being fury free.

Sage advice, and you are right. No one can rile you like a parent, because they were your mini-gods when you were growing up.
