Incidental Contact

Tattered pieces of time Envelope my very soul Awakened by the silence As the tears began to flow All those borrowed memories Forever now returned A perfect lover's serenade Never to be learned Just incidental contact Is what was meant to be Trading passing glances For all eternity Stolen hopes and dreams For a future that didn't last Shattered broken promises Discarded to the past I count the very heartbeats That's spelling out your name While looking for a reason Or someone else to blame A priceless hidden treasure That none could count the cost Cursed, without redemption For the love that I have lost
