In Your Shoes Inspired By Contest With Broken Rules
I often forgot to walk in your shoes
I’d print my conclusion of your outstanding dues
It was in your best interest, that you not look confused
But I pride myself on my ability to ration
Henceforth, this walk, shall be my first action
All laced up, I will test out their traction
Taking note of all things, such as comfort and fashion
Only then, will I form my personal verdict
I will state it as fact and expect, it shall stick
No more, maybe or perhaps, the answer is fixed
No assumptions or prejudice in the theory, I pitch
But I vow to understand if you disagree
I will give my opinion, respectfully
Remembering, others won’t think just like me
Although it seems clear, they may not see
I always strive to give good advice
Sometimes, I’m sure, it isn’t nice
And I suppose there’s chance, it isn’t right
Though in the past, it was forced to suffice
I often forgot to walk in your shoes
