In Your Eyes

As I sat there captivated by that beautiful smile
I looked into your incredible eyes and saw a reflection of myself
My other half, my soul mate
And the old adage that “the eyes are the window to the soul” took on new
meaning
I wondered how I would describe those eyes to someone else
Their striking color matched only by the intensity in which they burned into my very
soul
In those precious few moments a torrent of emotions filled me
And I felt something akin to recognition
Like a love once lost and found again
And for the briefest of moments all the pain was forgotten
All the heartbreak and sadness gone
We looked at one another like long separated lovers
Granted one final wish of seeing each other a last time
Each suddenly awakened by the one who captured their hearts
And would hold sway over them FOREVER
