In Your Brilliant Light, I Say This Solemn Prayer

In Your Brilliant Light, I Say This Solemn Prayer O' lord help me fight these dark, troublesome midnight blues these blacken currents that trouble my grieving heart I want to be right and walk in a good man's shoes Truly destroy, break evil completely apart. O' lord give me support, the courage to fight well may fight with my all, with my truest, faithful might Send this wicked scourge back into unholy hell open the way to bring in truth and Holy light. O' lord I thank you for the strength to fight this war may heart give me power to enemy defeat I ask you my lord, be with me to cross that bar Destroy this black wickedness, those that steal and cheat. I pray you my lord, sees my willingness to serve. I have the truth and in your light, the faithful nerve. Robert J. Lindley, sonnet Jan 10th, 1972,

To oft we poets think we are gods.. hardly! one can get intoxicated by vanity and false pride here, quite easily. By looking for prizes and praise from our fellow poets. That’s no way to write poetry or honor it. Not enough classical poetry here. Tons of emotion, what about the correct use of form? We can slap any name to a poem I have seen poems that are 100 per cent out of sync with the poem At least some here still have God, as you do. Panagiota

Thank you, my dear friend. Yes, you bring up a true point in your insightful commentary. Poetry to me is the greatest art when it is written as it should be- with true heart and true soul. With the poet intended it to help others and serve mankind. God bless
