In You, I Have Found Forever
I remember that day
as if it happened yesterday when you said
I don’t want you to wake up one
day and say you want to terminate
this friendship because it’s best for you or me
as if you read my mind
because the idea was mulling in my
head for weeks already
I was scared
that it wouldn’t make sense in the end
and yet I’ve hung around despite my convictions
despite the fact that I wanted to run
looking back at everything
that’s happened since then
it’s been worth all the tears
because there’s been more
camaraderie
and with all the trials
we’ve stuck it out and we made it through
because in you I’ve found a friend
sometimes more than that
the silent cheerleader
when things are going great
the one that wipes my tears away
with just a few words
the one that reminds me
how I have grown
someone who’s happy
to have taken this journey with me
don’t think I could have asked for anything better....
