In Tough Times
In Tough times, tend both flowers and foes
In Tough times, keep thy eyes in the skies
Live where thy lovely and lowly lamb lies
Yet wait to weigh thy wealth and woes.
Slow and steady the golden garden grows
Amidst thorns and thistles and fiery flies
In Tough times, when the weary wind blows
In tough times, soar high into the saintly skies.
In life, some sinks in stains and sorrows
Sour rains fall from their swollen skies
They’ve got no one to dry their ailing eyes
Their hopes are buried in bottomless burrows.
In Tough times, succumb not to shame and shadows.
