In Times Like These
Listen to poem:
Rainbows within the sky
Shadows are passing us by
Covering the dead that die
Winds are wondering why
Blood and sweat in the sand
People walking in a distant land
Smiles are frozen as they stand
Laughing has been banned
Eyes upon the saddened Sun
We are out to hurt no one
Our Phasers set on stun
Hang on tight to your gun
Folks staying far apart
What happened to our start?
Sending arrows to my heart
Realigning reality to restart
Do as they say no more excuse
Tyrants of power of more misuse
Prisoners set on the loose
Time for them to re-abuse
Arrests made in your front yard
Playing Frisbee has been barred
Fighting with the grooming guard
All are memories have been scarred
The children are not at school
Who will teach them the golden rule?
Who is the victim who is the fool?
Education is no more the tool
Mainstream media ticks the clock
Pandemics are here to shock
Shakers & fakers feed their flock
Maniacs are here to mock
Smoking breaks the mood
Soon to be out of food
Don’t want to sound so rude
But I think we're $%#@ing screwed.
