In Thoughts Of You

I drown myself in thoughts of you,
asking questions like, “Am I really in love with you?”
I’ve fallen into deep water
and can’t get out.
Will you lift me up or let me down?
Is this my fantasy, or are these signs —
signs of love you share sometimes?

Your voice makes mine shake, and yet
it’s the kind of peace my heart needs
and my mind won’t forget.
