In the Woods

The wind howls
Through its audience of trees.
Their tired leaves rustle wildly,
Distracting from the departing sun.

Rain has started to fall,
Lightly at first..
And then in torrents...
But steadily.

By now, I am drenched.

I close my eyes,
And take another deep breath.
