In the Valley
Dark clouds burst forth with thunder
Rain came down on what time forgot
Filled in all the spaces where air dwelt
Empty at first, before filling in the blanks
There is no place to hide in the valley
Storms hit the spot every time
Green grass seems like an illusion
That left on the breath of a new born baby
Moved to somewhere safe up above
There for a moment you can hear it
Along with a river forming below
Rising on a flash flood crashing
Covering trees in a memory deluge
Flowing on the banks of reason
Into tomorrows lost accounts of Spring
When the rain comes it comes down hard
Sometimes with thunder if it remembers
