Amid the stillness as racing time grinds to a halt, I watch the steady hustle and bustle of noontide. Up above, phalanx of birds fly about in the vast spring sky until they disappear in the far distance. Red emperor tulips hula-hoop to the song of the breeze. I pay rapt attention to my surroundings; incessant, the sound of cars whizzing by on the road to destination unknown. I listen to unseen wind chimes tinkling sweet music for me. From the balcony, I look down at the neighborhood children as they play enthusiastically, and their laughs bring a bright smile to my face; then I wonder to myself... "Gee, how beautifully alive is life?" COMPLETELY YOUR CHOICE(15) any theme any form contest (Winner: Honorable Mention) Sponsored by Brian Strand Date written: 06/20/2020
