Notes About The Poem

Listen to poem:

In the Shame of Silence

the dagger leaves its imprint
deep in the heart
an affront translating into betrayal
and intensified by cowering silence

where is the honor
where is the solidarity?

and yet, justice somewhat prevails
at the greatest of cost
history made and bought
with the sacrifices of martyrs
hardly forgotten

where is the shame
where is the dignity?

yet the cry against injustice
is louder than ever
while the silence roars
with its venom that's lethal

and we finally dare ask
what color is your honor?
