In the Shadows

I'm just a girl
Broken and tainted
Survived by art
Beauty and language

One in the crowd
A face in the bunch
If I don't find my voice
They'll have me for lunch

Surviving in shadows
Of the in between
A repellent of light
Tucked in my regime

The sun being strength
And rays a clear path
My skin, a pure white
The clouds, how they laugh

You are an individual...paint yourself in what ever colors you choose, just as you wrote this poem. Well done, Anna.
