In the Palm of My Hand
I held you in my hands it should have been for ever...
Or that is how it seemed...
Yet when I turned around I found that you had gone...
No trail, no trace, no scent..
I had those special moments when love was in our arms..
And woke with you each morning to hear you softly breathing..
I'm looking into empty hands and wonder were you are..
So many hopes and dreams have slipped thro my fingers..
I'm chilled and lacking feeling without your love to hold..
How could you slip away from me leaving nothing here but loss..
I lay and shape the pillow close and warm my tear stained face..
I'm sleeping with my shadows and crying in the dark..
But you are gone and I've only got my heartaches....
The truth is hard to bear, you'll never walk back thro my door..
It's heavens gates for you my love with a angel's requiem..
