In the Midst of Solitude
In the midst of solitude…
I’m upheld to learn from God Who teaches the best lesson:
Such is to love Him above all – in and out of season
To esteem Him with pure heart’s reason
Seeking His grace to transform me to be a better person.
While gripped with solitude-dread…
I’m led to understand that to fear the Lord is indeed vital
Since doing so for wisdom-gaining is fundamental
To keep me from sin that’s perilous and fatal
Bringing me His blessings in their grand total.
Though solitude-stricken…
I’m enabled to trust God’s Word which I must cherish
As my faith stands against trends that easily perish
Upheld by His truth mere opinions can’t tarnish
In His confidence He does readily furnish.
In vanquishing solitude-despair…
I’m pulled to flee from worldly influences’ destruction
Overcoming pride, flesh and vanity’s temptation
As I walk through the Spirit’s confirmation
While in His fellowship I bring to Him my petition.
To combat solitude-gloom…
I’m engaged to abide* in Christ since He's the best Driver
For that’s the best choice I have as His love-receiver
I’ll abide in Him, by His mercy, quitting never
Blooming where He has planted me to be a help-giver.
*John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
