Notes About The Poem

In the Midst of Butterflies

a colorful swarm
in daytime's rosy retreat
the still lovely hour

monarchs blues and reds
along with creams and purples
swirl about my head

where do they come from
these unplanned moments of bliss
maybe nature's kiss

Maybe nature's kiss, indeed... Certainly better than what pigeons do to me, constantly! lol. Butterflies forever, Gershon

Pigeons, huh? You've got to stop meeting like that. :0 Failure is like a caterpillar before it becomes a butterfly. ~ Evelyn

I recall as a child obliged to pull my shirt up over my mouth and nose because the monarchs were so think one could not breathe without sucking them in, yet so beautiful to watch. My granddaughter will never experience that ...Aloha! Rico

The congregation of the monarchs after migrating to Mexico, is something I would love to see, Rico. The childhood experiences you describe seem fascinating. Our world has many exotic places. Thank you for your thoughts. :D

This is so beautiful, Evelyn. I felt like I was in a flower garden surrounded by lovely butterflies. Sort of like visiting the butterfly sanctuary in Costa Rica.
