IN THE LAND OF PEACE

Once upon a time in a faraway land There was an old man, who had forgotten how to speak His eyes would stare into the sky, void of any emotion, His scars turned wrinkles narrated an untold story His hands, never steady, always counting Sometimes in the middle of the day, he would scream But no sound would escape his mouth, his scream which had now become an unheard plea And like someone had stabbed him, his eyes would cry blood His head, barren like a desert ,was a witness to unseen ,unknown tragedies There were rumours Rumours, that there was a time when the sky was blue ,he used to sing His voice sweeter than a nightingale He would sing and roses would break out corpses Then like a perfect story, he was stolen Like Moses from his mother Only he never came back , what did return was his flesh ,his soul lost in the ashes and cries Broken people and destroyed places, Tell a story of misery and hope Cuz where he lays now, daisies are grown And a thousand seed of resistance are sown You can never extinguish a flame that burns stronger than the day For a land that awaits revolution
