In the Hub
IN THE HUB
Pounding in the hub of his chest —
a ruby, as red as a polished apple.
The mellifluous heart of mercy’s chapel.
Guardian wings with a royal crest.
A multiflora rose adorns the angel’s coat.
Rapturous hues viciously protect any threats.
With no need to keep up, perfectly set —
crowned with a golden halo that floats.
The manifest expanse of his wings
flutters only for the boy always in trouble.
His emboldened hands manage double,
this guardian who faithfully clings.
