In the Hours of Dark
Sights and sounds I hear and see
Devices in hands fit so comfortably
Wires from ears connect to the one
They sit talking to themselves like they are with someone?
Vehicular movement with no live bearers.
So many different types; the mind boggles!
Moving signs illuminate these pavements of stone
Big flying objects make lots of noise
They just ignore them; they don't act surprised?
Moving pictures of such clarity behind huge windows of glass
Underground walkways filled with people and shops
They don't seem to notice and are not as polite
Acknowledge their eye sight and there is an element of fright
That's what I saw, that's what happens right here
In two hundred years the world is different out there
Your machine worked well getting me there
I don't want to go back to those lands as I saw the future and it's reality so stark.
I'll remember the experience as a dream in the hours of dark.
