In the Hearts of the Virtuous

Towards the setting sun my eyes I lifted

And

On the top of my voice, I asked:

“ Oh, glorious sun, ruler of the sky,

you that have witnessed millions of crimes

taking place during the day,

crimes committed by men against other

men and against the environment and the

animal kingdom, I implore you to tell me,

where are you going to find the courage to

rise again the morning to come?”

The sun, as though my question had heard, before

Pulling the drapes of night down for to go to rest, the

Whole sky in the color of blood painted and then into

The land of dreams disappeared.

In a little while, as I was watching the dark sky, the sun’s

Answer seemed to appear, written with the glow of the stars:

“ The courage to rise again tomorrow, in the hearts of

the virtuous men, I find!”

The virtuous are priceless, and if you believe it, once there was only 8 that the sun found. Nice Plato reference below, we saw what the merchants did to Socrates. I liked your poem.

I would not be surprised if you truly experienced this while outside where nature and God often combine to touch-talk with us. This is deep, beautiful and touching ... CayCay

You are not that far from the truth my dear, CayCay. We are inspired in many ways. I was watching the sun setting and the sky was red and the idea came to mind that this sun has seen so many crimes how could he be able to withstand another such day. Then I sat there till it got dark and the stars came out and then the answer to my question came to my mind. We can learn a lot by listening to the whispers of our Lord and of His creation. I have the picture and poem on fb. Thank you!

"Virtuous", in recent years has become an uncomfortable word in the face of politically correct world. I hope for the sun's sake that it will continue to find those hearts to be able to continually to rise everyday. hugs!

I know it very well my dear, Kim! Unfortunately is not just recently and not only in the political world but in all walks of life. PLATO has said that " Virtue worth as much as all gold that exist in and on the planet earth." Regrettably, the majority of people would rather go after a morsel of gold than after virtue. Thank you for visiting and commenting. The sun will keep you in mind when rises tomorrow as all the real friends of Virtue!
