In the Hearts of the Virtuous
Towards the setting sun my eyes I lifted
And
On the top of my voice, I asked:
“ Oh, glorious sun, ruler of the sky,
you that have witnessed millions of crimes
taking place during the day,
crimes committed by men against other
men and against the environment and the
animal kingdom, I implore you to tell me,
where are you going to find the courage to
rise again the morning to come?”
The sun, as though my question had heard, before
Pulling the drapes of night down for to go to rest, the
Whole sky in the color of blood painted and then into
The land of dreams disappeared.
In a little while, as I was watching the dark sky, the sun’s
Answer seemed to appear, written with the glow of the stars:
“ The courage to rise again tomorrow, in the hearts of
the virtuous men, I find!”
