In the Evening of the Summer

By Betty L. Hobbs

In the evening of the summer
When the sky is so clear
When the stars are so bright
They look so near

I’ll be waiting for the morning
I’ll be singing a new song
For in the evening of the summer
Is where my heart belongs

In the evening of the summer
When the clouds drift by so fast
I’ll be happy to remember
The sweet love that lasts

In the evening of the summer
Things seem quiet around
And the beauty of the season
Makes happiness to surround

We are having our first laying snowfall this morning in Springfield,Ohio. December 1,2010 what a way to enter this month. It is absolutely beautiful and finds me in good spirits. I have enjoyed reading your poetry this morning Betty. Looking forward to reading more. Have a wonderful day. Love, Carol
