In the End

Then the traveler in the dark 
Thanks you for your tiny spark, 
How could he see where to go, 
If you did not twinkle so?

in the end
   we all drown
like a star in the deep
   caught up
by God almighty
the day is short
      alive
is the night sky
        an inkling
of who we’ve lost

I told my daughter when she was young though she never met my father before he passed long before her birth. But if she ever wanted to know what he was like just take the most open and clear night pick out the brightest twinkling star. That was him looking down upon us no matter where on Earth we are! I do so love when I wander into people's older writings this one is extremely touching! Thank you for writing this. With somber reverence A.S.
