In the Desert

I wandered restlessly in the desert as the sands of time blistered my weary feet. Then as the sun bled crimson and night’s coolness washed over me, I awoke! Again, that damn Sandman had snatched slumber’s deepest comfort from me. Written by 9/15/2014 by Andrea Dietrich for nette onclaud's "In the Desert" Poetry Contest

That cracked me up! The sandman can be irritating sometimes. Good luck with the contest.

I think you were lucky that your words fit into your pyramid drawing. Worked out well. Like one syllable then two then three...all the way to ten. The best part is that the poem flows perfectly. Almost as if you were like really talented and wrote it to be exactly what it is. You know BRILLIANT!!!! Now I don't feel so bad missing the contest. I still posted it though. So you know, win win for me. I can always talk myself into believing I would of placed. " I coulda been a contender". ANDREA!!!!

Best in the contest Andrea... This is, like everything you write, a wonderful piece of writing. Words come naturally to some and I believe they do to you. Love and Prayers and God bless you.

Outstanding, as are most of your poems. There was an old cigarette ad back in the 40s - I think it was the 40s - "I'd walk a mile for a camel." N ot on those feet you wouldn't, eh? Love, daver
