In the Desert
In the desert
Not in the midst of surplus
Nor in chamber of comfort
That thou my love examining
But take thee me to the desert
Upon her thirsty roasted sand
There task thee me for liquor
Like rain without cloud I fall;
There thou shall know my love
When with smile I lift my queen
Where camels proceed no more.
