In the Dead of Night
a token of my love i commit to you as the rainbow bends upon the dew
the flowers blow ever so calmly in the breeze
as the waterfall overflows into the lake
my love for you i will never fake
i can not comprehend all the love you have bestowed upon me
it is more innumerable than the water in the sea
it is folly said the wise old man it is folly
he left off speaking in his lonely state
he never knew someone as beautiful as you
all his life he was plagued by cruel
but i have a lovely bird that does fly with my heart
so young and full of life
in due time she will heal me from the strife
i struggle to rise in the morning just to see your face
upon my frail knees i shake my heavy weighed leggs
when i see you my lonliness is dead
heaven above and hell beneath
you stole my heart like a thief
a thief in the night that took no pity
like a spoiler that spoiled a mighty city
why hath you broken my strength
when i was as strong as ten galloping steeds
you came along and wounded me
a deep scare upon my heart and my soul was afflicted
you bored me through with your sword
you do to me as you will
your hate pierced me as sharp steel
you return to me with a dress of white
you lie silently in the dead of night
