In the Darkness of the Night

I gaze across the balcony With none to keep company The art of the twilight The painting that was drawn right In the darkness of the night When I look upon the abondoned streets Waiting for the chatter of feet Hour by hour, the ticking goes on Waiting for the bright light that was gone In the darkness of the night Only a caravan to pass by With the tapping horses to the bars untie The wind whirling around the corner And the dim light which would come out sooner In the darkness of the night I shall wait for the day to arrive For which I shall thrive In the darkness of the night
