In the Dark, Alone

You lay here in the dark alone,
Ever so far form home.

The bleak fact,
Your family is waking as you lay down to sleep.

You've not seen them for over half a year,
Too short Skype calls don't count.

In the dark,
Your fears take on teeth and claws.

Too many to count,
They swim before your closed eyes.

And Far away,
In a strange land,
You are alone in the night.
