In the Blink of An Eye

Never having been in need for much for life has always been pretty good
The whole family had kept in touch just like true families should
And the job was great so the family was also doing very well
Seemed to have a pretty clean slate from what everyone could tell

Vacation every year and a brand new car in that big driveway
It all seemed pretty clear that that’s the way things would stay
But in a blink of an eye it had come crashing down all about
Now asking why as his whole body became filled with doubt

He hadn’t prayed in so long, there was never any need to
Always having been so strong this feeling was so new
But kneeling down on those knees such big tears began to flow
Offering up desperate plea’s, finding feelings one could never know

That was four years ago today and things have never been the same
That moment he began to pray in calling out Jesus‘s Name
His daughter survived the accident and regular life has returned
Whatever was truly meant it was Gracious in what was learned
