In the Blink of a Wink
He sang to her
silly songs
because she asked
and because
he promised.
And
she knew, hundreds of miles away,
by the way the waves crashed on the shore,
the winds whipped his hair
and rocked his world,
he would never know
a tomorrow
by the same name
again.
