In Search of the Light

Walking down the streets of the night, I search and search and do not see the light. Every step gets heavier along with my breath, In the shadows all I can see is death. My feet tell me to stop yet my spirit says go, I wander on desperately searching for the glow. The night falls heavily blinding my dreams, Oh how I miss the sun's bright beams. Though I see nothing thus far in this night, I know soon the lights will be shinning bright. For morning will end the night's rule, No matter how dark the night, powerful or cruel.
