In Pursuit of Tranquility

Every day I opened my eyes
The heart feels tight
For some unknown reasons
I feel breathless all the time
Every inch of my body is in agony

I have come back home
My heart is free and alive for once
The storm had left
Yet my mind is still wretched

Will you take me back to your side?
When I'm so worn out and rotten to the bones
Behind these scars lies stories of their own
Most of them have not healed yet
Perchance you could soothe my pain with your company

The merchant's bamboo flute has a sweet tune
Only it breaks my heart
To know that I could only yearn for the past
A time that is so breathtakingly beautiful
Whispers of persuasions that has a precious ring to it
That tells me the assurance of your presence

My love, do not be afraid
I have come to get you
I have prayed for your safety all these times
Where are you now?
I could not find you, my love
Please, listen to my plea
