In Progress Versions 1, 2, 3, 4

In Progress ver. 1 1. Imagine an Idea from which later a title will form. 2. Select a form, a kind of song, cadence, rhythm from your soul. 3. Allow the tone to be defined. 4. Sketch with words an outline of the message 5. Retrace the lines and hear the melody between the lines. 6. Go back and question the purpose of word choice. 7. Repeat the pattern of refinement, correcting grammar and verse. 8. Step away, and read a different poem, clear your mind of your creation. 9. Return and ask if it is pretentious, simple, syncopated, flowing, palatable, or contains repeatable words. 10. Sign it, and walk away. In Progress ver. 2 1. Imagine an Idea from which a title may come. 2. Select a form and a cadence, a rhythm or song. 3. Marry the two and allow a tone to be defined. 4. Sketch with words and an expression outlined. 5. Retrace each line and hear a natural melody emerge. 6. Go back and question the choice and purpose of each word. 7. Repeat the pattern of refinement, correcting grammar and verse. 8. Step away from your creation and erase all you rehearsed. 9. Return ... feng shui. 10. Then sign it, seal it, put your pen down, and simply walk away. In Progress ver. 3 1. First, imagine an Idea from which a title may come. 2. Then select a form and a cadence, a rhythm or song. 3. Marry the two, and allow a tone to be defined. 4. Sketch with words an expression outlined. 5. Retrace each line and listen for a melody to emerge. 6. Then, go back and question the purpose of every word. 7. And repeat this pattern of refinement, correcting grammar and verse. 8. When satisfied, step away and erase all you rehearsed. 9. Moments later return and ask if it has feng shui. 10. Then sign it and seal it, and simply walk away. In Progress ver. 4 1. First, imagine an Idea from which a title may come. 2. Then select a form and a cadence, a melody or rhythm. 3. Marry the two, and allow a tone to be defined. 4. Sketch with words and produce an expression outlined. 5. Retrace each line and listen for a natural melody to emerge. 6. Then, go back and question the choice and purpose of each word. 7. Ad nauseam, repeat this pattern of refinement, correcting grammar and verse. 8. When satisfied, step away from your creation and erase all you rehearsed. 9. Moments later return and ask if you are pleased with your work; if it has feng shui. 10. Then sign it and seal it. Close your eyes and release it. Then put your pen down, and simply walk away. I still hate it.
