How can it be?
Condemned
A thief
A life
Rejecting law
Despising God
In Paradise today?

But justly I
Condemned
And hung
And nailed
Till sin its pay
Collects in death.
In Paradise today?

This undeserving Christ
Why hangs
He here
His life
Of innocence
Destroyed like mine.
In Paradise today?

And can it be
He took
My place
My sin
My punishment
To give me life
In Paradise today.
