In Our Misfortune
Listen to poem:
you try not to worry
but who could blame you
your health is your life
now in the hands of others
viral enemy within
destructive parasite
gnawing at your future
ironic though
were it not for the news
you would carry on as usual
while the damage would
be taking its deathly course
ravaging you from inside
unknowingly and stealth
really and truly
what amazing luck
to find out by chance
while there is still time
to treasure every given day
so thankful for the opportunity
