In My Time of Light
I walk into the void as void
The power of strangeness upon me
I speak clearly, directly, flavorless
The ripples I make in the water cripple my next move
And the squawk of voices bear little thought and great wonder
I try to speak in jokes
Though my mouth never opens
I'm writing like a little girl
Since the path that I must follow
Shines down upon me from the smoking hills
The brain floats through waves of love and water
How far up have you risen above the bridge?
Are you a bubble in space?
This time I felt like a fiend
Drifting from crude desire to cruel desire
That's when my grandma asked me if I wanted
To learn how to cheat at solitaire
That's when everything came back.
Everything was alive.
I have a voice, a name, a feeling to express.
With the heart pouring out blackened discharge
I gave way to clarity and offered:
"No one's interested in anything different."
Then when arguing against myself
I forgot what love was.
Love is service.
Who has the courage to be a servant of love?
I walk into me as me.
I walk into God as God.
I walk into Love as Love.
