In My Grooves

Find me here
Within graphite words
breathe me deeply
until the lines are blurred
let my smoke fill your lungs
I desperately want to be felt and heard
Ash rises from my bones
from my mind to your heart transferred

my thoughts are paper thin
Yet they levitate upon my imperfections
Two three and four dimensions
The things I can't scream
without fear here I mention
Maybe it's all a cry for attention
is it really me these absurd expressions
I lay it out for the world
Find the holes in my communication
plug in your extension
Maybe the light from your lamp
will illuminate my apprehension

My record silently skips
a soundless sensation
The needle gouges deep
with its intimate groove penetrations
Is this any indication
of my faltering perceptions
or do I have frayed wires
stripped by my preoccupation
So here now and from yesterday
I form words into weird collections
maybe you can find me here
amidst my verbose fascination
I'm here somewhere
in all of these indentations!

A deeply soulful piece... to be accepted and embraced "as is" is really a gift we give to ourselves and each other. You are so wonderful at conveying emotions and meaning that have such a positive and healing impact on the world. Excellent writing, 7+ always a pleasure to read, learn and be reminded of what's important from you Richard :-) blessings, lynn

In one of my poems I wrote that I saw beauty in her imperfections. This applies to all of us. There are moments when we feel the need for reassurance, to be heard, and to be understood. Let us walk with open eyes and ears...many seek our attention. // paul

Hi Richard, this is a wonderful expression of the feelings that go into a poem when written from the heart, and I agree with Tim, the imperfections can make the best most, most honest poetry..thanks for the visit today and lovely comment. I've never been to Italy, but I hope to go one day. Hugs, Rhonda

This is so expertly and emotionally expressed what it is to give yourself away in a poem, with the doubts, fears, and elation you can feel. And I love the indentations. Beautiful poetry.

When a poet shows you his writings he shows you his soul. A poet is an open book to any who will read and by reading know him. Great job here Richard. God Bless, JB

Hi Richard, you have found your groove with poetic excellence. Your words just sing off the page as they always do. You always write your feelings so well. This sounds like a poem of your poetic journey. Excellent as always Richard. Your Friend....Mike. Has to be a seven and a fave.

Nicely put, well written with poetic flare. Your emotions and wit wrap themselves around your words and we are left in awe. Emile.
