In My Garden

In my garden my roses grow
Little blooms bend as the winds blow
Birds are flying there in the sky
Babies learning the way to fly
Are scared of falling down below

Yellow buds with a perfume sweet
Many rows of blooms looking neat
So proud am I of my roses
In my garden

Many blooms almost touch the sky
Reaching up maybe ten feet high
People stop walking by each day
My roses look good right through May
Without water they will be dry
In my garden

Nice idea to write about flowers! I live in Brookly, New York and we have a marvelous public garden here - the Botanical Gardens. Keep it up! Peace & Love Matthew Anish

This is just so sweet !! Love roses as did my Mom. Pink roses were her favorite...I like the darkest reds..almost black, but not black. They are just sooo rich looking. I'm going to have to check out this form...Enjoyed the read.

Thanks Deb, This was my first effort on Rondeau. I loved red roses too. My husband gave me a dozen long stemmed red roses for Valentine's Day. They arrived packaged in a large box with a beautiful red bow. He is such a romantic. I just don't know what I'd do without him he is a wonderful and caring man. I love him so much. Pamx

a sweet little rondeau. Don't you love doing this form? I don't have a garden but recently planted roses in front of my house in that little area in front of our porch. This was last spring and one of the bushes has grown pretty high by now and bloomed right up until November. I LOVE roses now.

hi Andrea, This is my first rondeau. I wanted to seee if I can write this style of poetry. I will definitely try again. Yes, roses are my favourite flower. There are so many colours not to mention the colours that are made by grafting. Thank you for your lovely comment. Pam x

Mums teach us a lot growing up. My mother has two lovely rose gardens and I wish I'd listened and watched a lot more when I was growing up. My rose gardens are in need of some TLC. Thanks Kerry for your very nostalgic comment. Pam

Thank you Debbie. This was my first attempt at writing this genre of poetry. I am so pleased you like it. I just had major neck surgery. I'm lucky to be here as I was on life support for six days because of complications that arose. I am recovering now..more poems to come. pam xxx
